Flash Tasmota Firmware

Only When Needed

Normally you never have to flash firmware - the stromleser.tasmota 2 ships ready to use. Only flash the firmware if support asks you to, or if you need a special firmware build.

No Update via the Tasmota Interface

NEVER perform a firmware update through the Tasmota interface! This destroys the special stromleser firmware. Only flash via USB using the Tasmota Web Installer as described below.

What You Need​

  • A laptop or PC with Chrome or Edge (the Web Installer requires Web Serial)
  • A USB cable to connect the stromleser.tasmota 2
  • The matching firmware file (from support or stromleser.de)

Install the Firmware via the Tasmota Web Installer​

  1. Go to the Tasmota Web Installer.

  2. Click "Upload" and select the firmware file you downloaded.

  3. Connect the stromleser.tasmota 2 to your laptop using a USB cable.

  4. Click "Connect" and choose the correct COM port.

  5. Enable the option "Erase device" to remove old data.

  6. Click "Install" and wait for the installation to finish.

    Do Not Disconnect

    Do not disconnect the device during installation.

  7. Once done, the stromleser.tasmota 2 reboots automatically.

After flashing, the device is back in its factory state and has to be set up again:

  2. Script Installation - Activate the script for your meter
  3. Test the Script - Verify that meter data is read
